McAfee Alerts

Paste a Facebook search. Fill in a few boxes. Get phone alerts.

This page is built to make your Marketplace alerts much easier to set up. You paste the Facebook search you already made, choose your price and radius, enter your home city and phone topic, and the page shows the alert settings you need.

Keep scrolling after the form for the iPhone notification setup.
1 search link You only need the Facebook Marketplace URL you already filtered.
Phone ready Made for ntfy topics so the alert system can notify your phone.
Any item Use this for mowers, golf carts, tools, trailers, furniture, and more.

Alert Setup Form

Fill this out once for the item you want the alert system to monitor.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Use these steps exactly if you are setting up a new alert.

1Build the search in Facebook first

Open Facebook Marketplace, search for the thing you want, then apply your Facebook filters there first. For example: max price, last 24 hours, and sort by newest.

2Paste the full Facebook link

Copy the full URL from your browser address bar after you finish filtering Facebook. Paste that full link into the Facebook Marketplace search link box on this page.

3Set your hard limits

Enter your max price, your home city, and your distance radius. The alert system uses your home city and radius to reject listings that are too far away even if Facebook still shows them.

4Tell it what to keep and what to ignore

Put the words you do want in the required keywords box. Put things like parts, broken, belts, blades, repair, or accessories in the excluded keywords box.

5Add your phone topic

Use the ntfy topic you want your iPhone to subscribe to. This is the channel name your alerts will be sent to.

6Finish phone setup

Once your form is filled out and your iPhone topic is working, your alert settings are ready to use with the system behind the scenes. You do not need to handle raw code on this page.

Best practice: let Facebook handle broad search filters like “last 24 hours” and “newest first,” then let the alert system handle the stricter distance check, duplicate blocking, and phone notifications. For iPhone, always verify the ntfy app is using the default server and that notifications are enabled in iOS Settings.

iPhone Notification Setup

After you fill out the form, use this section to set up ntfy on your iPhone and test it.

1What your ntfy topic should be

Your topic is just the private channel name your alert system sends notifications to. It can be anything unique, like:

mcafee-mowers-forestcity-7f3d9a

Good topic names are specific and hard to guess. Do not use something too simple like mowers or alerts.

2Choose your ntfy topic

Type any private topic name you want below. This is the channel your alerts will be sent to. Example: mcafee-golf-carts-orlando-82x7.

3Install ntfy on iPhone

On your iPhone, open the App Store, search for ntfy, and install it.

4Subscribe on iPhone

Open ntfy on your iPhone. When it asks for a server, keep the default free server as https://ntfy.sh. You do not need a paid subscription for this setup. Then subscribe to the exact topic shown above.

5Turn on iPhone notifications

If iPhone asks to allow notifications, tap Allow. If you missed it, go to Settings > Notifications > ntfy and turn on Allow Notifications, Sounds, and Banners.

6Run a real force scrape

Tap Force Scrape after you enter your topic. This button sends your form settings to the alert server and asks it to run a real scrape right away.

Enter your topic in the form above, then use Force Scrape to run a live check right away.
When you are done using alerts, just delete the subscription in the ntfy app or remove the app completely from your iPhone.
